How do you guys sell stuff at gun shows?
OK, so I bought a bunch of lower parts kits that I plan on reselling for profit at the gunshow this weekend.
I dont have enough to get a table or anything, just enough to make a couple of hundred bucks. Can anyone tell me whats the best way to sell these things? Just walk around holding them and see who asks me? Should I make a sign? Shout out "DPMS LPK, $100"? |

Well, I'd take 2 lowers and strap 'em over your shoulder like a pair of skates ........then attach a SIGN with what it is + the price.
You could carry 'em in a bag with a sign but probably wouldn't get enough attention. Just a suggestion. |

I also am considering selling my glock 19. Anyone have any idea what generation 2 glock 19s go for? I have the box and two 15 rd mags. |

Pin a paper sign on your back stating what you are selling and for how much...and just walk around looking at everybody's stuff.

Re: How do you guys sell stuff at gun shows?
I've bought a table at a gun show a few times over the years to sell my excess junk. Trying to sell something on foot to individuals at a gun show is a PITA. Every other dealer wants to ask you what you have and low ball you. You waste so much time with dealers.
Sell the LPK's on ar15.com in the equipment exchange section. They'll sell in less than 48 hours. |
Re: How do you guys sell stuff at gun shows?
I've gone to a show with the intent to trade a piece for 2 pieces. I knew exactly what I was there to achieve and my only obstacle was finding a table with both desired pieces on it. What I did not expect was the deluge of requests from everyone on the floor (not behind a table) to see what was in the case I was carrying and then to make a generally lowball offer. A couple offers were acceptable but would not facilitate the trade I was really after. I ended up finding a table with both pieces and a willing operator for the trade. He still made me run NICS, though, being an FFL.

Re: How do you guys sell stuff at gun shows?
I use sticky mailing labels to advertise my wares and price - sometimes just stuck to my t-shirt and other on a manilia file folder sign clipped to my shirt. If I see my price is too hi-low compared with comparable items I can replace the label with a revised one. Find a spot near the door or high traffic area - by a trash barrel or some other obstacle, and let people pass by you. Don't sell in front of someones table - they will get upset you are blocking their 'customers'. Be willing to deal a little but get your price. don't get discouraged if they don't sell right away, I've had items that I carried to 8-9 shows but I got my price or traded for something I wanted.

You dont get it do ya.
Why would I spend 100.00 for something that is available for 70.00. As that is the average price these days of a LPK and that's a good one not POS DPMS LPK. Quote:

Sign on your back minimum, front and back preferable.
2nd Gen Glock 19 will usually sell for about $25 more than a 3rd Gen Glock 19. (they are worth more because lots of folks HATE the finger groves) |
